Lasting Partnership Training Center, Inc.

Sandy Carpenter-Rose

We will be planning a few clinics again this year with
Sandy!  Check back for dates!

This clinic will focus on creating and preserving a soft,
responsive horse.
Weather permitting, riders will be mounted most of the day, if it is cold
we will be in the indoor arena 1-3 riders at a time.
We will do exercises to get the horse to respond to our cues, give to the
bit and move off our legs.
We will also spend time on an obstacle course.

Here are some
comments from past
clinic participants:

Sandy takes each horse
and rider from where
they are and gives the
rider tools to get to the
next level.  Individualized
training in a calm,
relaxed, positive
environment.

Our Clinic with Sandy
Carpenter-Rose last
September was a huge
success!  Each horse and
rider left with a wealth of
information and new
exercises to get them
working better together.
The new outdoor arena
was a huge asset to have,
and the weather
cooperated beautifully!
Everyone had a great time!
 We are sure to have
Sandy back in the Spring,
please plan to join us!
We are in the planning stages for other clinics.  We
would like ideas for future clinics, please contact us
with any ideas and suggestions!
Please check back soon for updates or email me to
be notified when the schedule is set!

2008 El Paso County Fair Wagon Train!

Sunday July 20th we left at 6:30 am with Thor, the wagon and 5 other horses
and outriders in tow.
We started out at The Baily Ranch & Saddle Museum  in Simla.  We had
coffee and donuts and were able to get a taste of what the museum has to
offer before our departure at 9 am.
We traveled across pastures with a few brief water and rest-room breaks
before arriving in the town of Ra
mah.  We went through the town of Ramah
and made our way to the Ra
mah Dam.  We had lunch at Ramah Reservoir
and gave the horses a much deserved rest!
After lunch we headed out again through pastures towards Calhan.  We had a
wonderful ride along the creek and had a nice break along the trees.  The
final leg of our ride included a couple miles along Calhan Hwy, across Hwy 24
and finally ended up at the fair grounds about 5:30pm with a lap around the
rodeo arena before the Ranch Rodeo began.  There was a nice BBQ after
getting the horses un-tacked and settled.

The 15 mile trip included some rough terrain, some hills and gullies, some
cattle, a lot of sunshine and great company!  Thor was awesome for this
being his first long trip and only second time pulling the wagon totally away
from home.  All in all there were 9 wagons and around 30 outriders.  I think
everyone had a wonderful day and I know we plan to participate again next
year!!

A huge thanks to our folks, Roger and Zoe Conner and Bill and Terry Crider
and to Frank Kink for helping shuttle trucks and trailers back to the fair for us!!
All lined up at one of the breaks.
Gail Tobin and Family have the
nice Belgian team next to us.
A nice walk through the town of
Ramah on the way to lunch!
A nice walk along the creek!  The
shade was very welcomed!!
Break time near the
creek...
Zack and the
outriders
enjoying the
ride!!
Nothing like riding along
the wide-open spaces!!!
A short trip down Calhan Hwy to
get to the fair grounds.  We had a
police escort across Hwy 24...
What a view!!!
...to the Fair Grounds for a lap
around the arena to open up the
Ranch Rodeo!
